After the piping operation, the cleanliness number of the oil is determined according to which hydraulic elements with which degree of sensitivity are used in the hydraulic system. The most common unit of measurement is NAS oil cleanliness number, and the lower it is, the cleaner the oil.
For example, in the hydraulic system that uses servo valves, oil with NAS3 to NAS4 should be used. Therefore, before starting and using the hydraulic system, it is important to make sure that the oil has reached the desired NAS. For this reason, operation and flushing are required.

During this operation, with suitable equipment for flashing the oil in a confused way, Re>4000 flows in the pipelines, and the oil in its flow path, according to its turbulence and the blows it hits the body of the pipes and connections, dissolves all the pollution in itself, and by filtering the oil, we reach the required cleanliness number, and after that, that the hydraulic system can be used.
A very important point in this operation is that unlike the laminar flow that we need in the operation of hydraulic systems, in flushing, the flow must be completely turbulent in order to be sure of the cleanliness of the oil after the operation.

Therefore, despite the belief of some employers, this flushing operation is a very specialized, sensitive and precise category, and if it is performed incompletely, the entire hydraulic system is exposed to early failures and can impose exorbitant costs in the near future.
